The Volatiles are a hard working garage punk rock band from Melbourne that play an intense blend of modern punk styles with a hard-core attitude having local and interstate success over the last few years. These guys are white-hot, with a twin-guitar wall of distortion, shows that are fast paced and raw with vocals that ram down your throat but also show the musical prowess that their recordings deliver. Formed in ’08, the band consist of Luke Daymond & Chris ‘Jamsy’ James on guitars, Shane Thomson on bass, Nathan Devitt playing drums & Jarrod Malcolm causing havoc on vocals. These boys put on a show that make you want to join in on the chaos. The 2009 debut EP, ‘On The Cheap’, showcases the dirty punk rock of The Volatiles that took them to some of Melbourne’s best venues and also up the east coast to spread their message. This release gave The Volatiles the opportunity to smash out shows around town and share the stage with recognized acts such as The Meanies, Kretch, Spencer P.
