The Wait Ups are a band of no compromise, shamelessly rock-and-roll, proudly wearing their influences on their sleeves. Meticulously rehearsed and delivered with conviction, the bands live show has quickly roused talk in Sydney. The band derives melody and harmony from their favourite artists like The Posies, The Pictures, Elliot Smith, but delivered with the conviction of an enraged Iggy Pop In Their short time together The Wait Ups have played live relentlessly, headlining venues such as The Annandale, The Excelsior, The Hopetoun and The Cat and Fiddle. By no means do The Wait Ups wish to be lumped in with aus-rock cliché, and with songs and sounds as honest as these, they surely wont be. In a time when its not hip to be “just a rock and roll band”, the band throw a proverbial “fuck you” to trend, by being just a rock and roll band.
