"The Whistlestops, definitely the closest Brisbane will ever come to having our own Arctic Monkeys...Word has it there's reason to believe they might be something quite special." Rave Magazine. "... a sound echoing the likes of The Coral and The Libertines, but with a green-and-gold shadow...not heard in these parts for a very long time." Time Off Magazine. The Whistlestops' chirpy and catchy songs, at once fresh and familiar, will be lodged in your brain for days - yes they will, promise! A rousing chorus, an irresistible lyric, a vibrant melody. Songs destined to be whistled by workers, hummed by housewives, sung by students and danced to by, well, everybody. The band formed in late 2005 when at seven o'clock one weekend morning Justin Stokes (vocals, guitar) found a dishevelled and hungover Wayne Irwin (lead guitar) on the side of the road in Lutwyche, Brisbane, Australia. Justin then met Alex Gray (bass guitar) and Wayne met Jess Seitz (drums). The Whistlestops were formed.
