The Gems are inspired by 70's rock n' roll and 80's FM pop music. Front man and songwriter Arni Rey creates intelligent music with a polish that the world has long been craving for. The line-up of this devistatingly slick pop band consists of Arni Rey (jangle and vocals), Chris Crispy Thompson (beats, pulses, syncopations), Tom Dockray (twang and wow) and Line Britt (lowends and throbs). Having hit the Melbourne band scene with smouldering momentum earlier this year The Gems intend to unleash upon you a new form of fun. Rock needs to be more fun like us! Lyrics inspired by living in this city, heaps of guitar and vocal harmonies; this is pop and rock, only cooler, a little more refined. The eagerly anticipated debut four track, self-titled EP was recorded at Head Gap Studios. Casey Rice engineered. It will be launched in November.
