Over the past few years, Melbourne-based Gabriel Lewis has been working on Three Month Sunset, a slow-burning, cathartic solo guitar project. Lewis prefers to whittle quietly away at long, sinuous melodies, entwining them to create a tender embrace resulting in a sparkling, triumphant chaos. In 2007 the Three Month Sunset song, Milkthistle, was selected out of over 1000 entries worldwide by members of Sigur Rós, and producers Flood and Alan Moulder as the winner of the Sigur Rós/Artist In Residence song competition. In a live setting Lewis has taken to employing the use of 5 amplifiers and a stereo guitar to recreate the depth of the sound which is found in his recordings. The music of Three Month Sunset is a dense, dreamy and accomplished thing.
