Edit history

Timm Thaler is a Sydney based indierock/synth duo, consisting of Tim Khadnevich (guitar, synth) and Alex Seleznev (drums), who both are eastern European descents. The name of the band used to be a scenic pseudonym of Tim, who has taken it from the famous book of German writer James Kruss “Timm Thaler, or the Traded Laughter”. The book tells the story of a boy who trades his enchanting laughter to a wealthy mysterious Mephistopheles-like Baron in exchange for the ability to win any bet he makes. Their sound is a mix of indie rock and synthpop influences, decorated with post-rock guitars and catchy rhythms. In 2018 band released their first EP called “Wanderlust” and a music video for a single “Know you better”. Currently band is actively working on a full length album while releasing its singles and playing live shows meanwhile. First single “Higher” from an upcoming album is set to be released on the 9th of November this year.
