James Reynolds began his music learning in the early seventies. Life sped up and he found himself entering an apprenticeship as a carpenter in Mountain Gate Victoria. He and a couple of good mates regularly jammed together. "We played our first gig together at the Knoxfield Primary School dance. (it was sorta jamming; only to a live audience). James did another gig with the guys at the same venue being the last gig for some years. After finishing the Carpentry and being married for 17 years (not playing very much music during this period), James moved back to his old stomping grounds, the Mornington Peninsula Victoria. In 2001, James met up with, accidentally, two muso's, Tony McLean RIP. and George Papanoniou. This rekindled James' music fire. Together, "OldMcPap" as they called themselves, played for about two years doing various gigs here and there and often busking in Blairgowrie every second Sunday during summer months. The band defused and James left Victoria for Launceston
