The solo project of Liz Tillman (TEES), Tired Girl makes music that sounds like it belongs in that liminal zone between asleep and awake, where your subconscious runs unbridled between reflection, fear, pleasure and mystery. Stepping out independently as a producer and songwriter in 2020, Tired Girl embraces the spontaneity of the writing process without losing integrity and intention. Her sound is one that leans on layering rich vocals and harmonies amidst droning basslines, dark gritty tones and carefully placed percussion and beats. It’s music that sounds right at 3am, be it the soundtrack to a moonlight walk along the beach, or to catching someone’s eye as last drinks are called at the club.
