Using a large range of acoustic instruments, evenly distributed among the 4 members, Tom Black and the Caesars have no definitive sound, but rather let each song find its own. Using any combination of, among others, guitar, mandolin, accordion, piano, clarinet, whistle, drum and the signature lagerphone, almost anything is possible. This four piece from Melbourne began in 2003, and take their name from infamous bush ranger and pirate Tom Black whose gang, The Caesars, terrorised the seas and the highways around Australia.
