Tommy Dynamite & The Explosions are a Melbourne post-punk outfit’ that packs a punch with explosive guitar-driven rock and commanding political lyricism.. With idiosyncratic songwriting and theatrical vocal delivery, frontman Tom Walker taps into the desperate frustration and anxiety of a music community left abandoned by Melbourne lockdowns. Catchy schoolyard chants and sardonic quips explode into huge moments of cathartic rage, with rock reminiscent of the Sex Pistols and Australian post-punk. Tommy Dynamite & The Explosions is the lovechild of local Melbourne musicians Tom Walker, Conor Walkeden (BIFF), Margaret Noble (Plovers), Sam Soldani (Juicy Fruits), Cal Barclay (The Skips). Drawing inspiration from artists like The Drones, Courtney Barnett, and The Peep Tempel, Tommy Dynamite & The Explosions deliver scathing and entertaining political slacker punk with an even more dynamic live show.
