Trandantic began in late 2004 with the meeting of school mates, Jules Baxter (vocals, guitars) and Andrew Bujtor (drums, percussion), with Jason Marles (lead guitar). The writing began immediately and only a handful of months later they were gracing the Brisbane music scene with their guitar driven musings. Taking inspiration from bands such as Something For Kate and Incubus, the band never shied away from trying something different during their infancy. The rest of 2005 saw the band mature and take on a permanent bass player in Byron Moore. A strict regime of practice and writing soon found the band liking their new sound. After a few more shows in November, they camped out in their Bowen Hills studio over the new year period to demo the latest material. “The recording process always makes you refine your direction on a song because there's no live ambiance to lend ambiguity to what you're trying to achieve,” says Jules about their latest foray into self producing a demo.
