Ok where to start. Traverse was essentially born over many beer filled evenings spent reminiscing about the times when music was at its best (the early to mid 90s). After cobbling together the occasional riff, guitarists Ben and Greg realised it was probably going to be hard to generate a fan base playing in their lounge room without a full band. The boys set out in search of a drummer, taking on Brady Sonnenberg after he was recommended by Ben's sister. A recruitment drive to find a suitable lead singer saw traverse posting flyers on car windscreens at the Perth Australian idol auditions. Requesting expressions of interest from those into Something For Kate, The Police, Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Simon and Garfunkel and Jebediah, Matt Bonano responded after his sister passed an advert onto him. With vocal duties locked away, the discovery that Matt was also a trained bassist lead to the band refining themselves from a 5 piece to 4 members after the exit of part time bass player Damo.
