Tristan Courtney-Prior has been lead guitarist of acclaimed Sydney band Peabody since the mid 2000s, running amok on Sydney stages with sartorial elegance, their blend of indie rock and post punk intoxicating audiences. He's also a member of the band Shearin', a different yet equally compelling sonic kettle of fish. Now, in 2022/23, Tristan steps out on his own as a solo artist, with his self-described 'experimental post-punk' or 'yobbo art-rock'. After losing his job during lockdown, he found himself with a little more time on his hands so he decided to embrace the unknown and explored recording a project in his home studio, experimenting with recording techniques, effects, instruments he'd never touch in bands, etc. He's always recorded demos both solo and for bands during pre-production, but this was the first time he deliberately set out to record a release. As a result, he's largely recorded & played most things on this single and the upcoming album. Marc Watson (E For Echo) plays drums, and Pip Smith (Imperial Broads) provides backing vocals.
