turning violet, as a matter of fact, is one of those ridiculous "bands" with only one member. i am however, learning to live with this. emulating the beach boys and sonic youth with 1 mic, a beginners classical guitar with 5 strings (R.I.P.) and a busted up casio with no bass keys was never going to be easy, but that whole DIY thing did bring the elliott smith out in my sound. you might be able to hear it in there somewhere. his spectre looms large over my older recordings and song writing, if only for his approach. amateur music scholarism has its moments, but it's the reason the catalogue still seems to grow as if by magic. you see, turning violet are obsessed with music. all one of them. it's why they'll get into a studio one day and perhaps blow their own socks off. in the meantime, leaving you with the shells of another era seems like the most gentlemenly thing to do.
