Twenty Five Hour Day are an indie rock band from Melbourne, Australia. The band was formed in 2008 when singer/songwriter Simon Moore enlisted the services of drummer Elliot Willcocks. Moore was getting ready to follow up his debut solo album and was ready to take the songwriting to a bigger sound. The duo spent the hot Australian summer of 2008 intensively developing material in rehearsal. Long days were spent driving, unloading gear, playing, sweating, breaking strings and sticks, drinking, arguing, until the new record, Bricks and Mortar, was born. Willcocks recorded his drums in Melbourne’s Sing Sing studios, playing along to a single home-recorded guitar track. When Moore jumped on a plane and crossed the Pacific, he took only basic guitar parts, some partially scribbled lyrics and Elliot’s drum tracks. The rest of the album was written in LA – the music improvised in Elliott Smith’s New Monkey studio while lyrics were penned in East LA dive bars and Mexican diners. Fuelled by
