Based in Melbourne, Australia, Typeboys is a diverse group of artists determined to express their distaste for the status quo, mediocre art and typecasting. Typeboys identify as misfits, lacing playfully aggressive lyrics over eclectic beats creating a musical juxtaposition that speaks to their experience as first generation Australians. Informed by both freedom of expression and defiance, Typeboys have championed an ethos of “fitting in by not fitting in” within their music, through the idea of unifying artists disenfranchised by the system, creating a space for collaboration in music, film and design.
