Ucky is an up and coming hip hop artist based in Brisbane but with cross-continental roots. Born in Warri, Nigeria into what he describes as a ‘rather peaceful and prosperous place’, he was first introduced to reggae through his Dad. At the young age of eight, he relocated with his family across the world to Dublin, Ireland. It was there he unearthed a deeper love for music. Captivated by a larger range of genres he now had available to his ears, soaking up everything from rock to hip hop. In the years that followed he travelled between Dublin, London and current home Brisbane, gathering influences and inspiration along the way. In 2019, he took his love for music to the next level of beginning to create it while given the chance at Albert Park Flexible Learning Centre. Lucky is inspired to write on a wide range of themes working with different production styles to guide his approach. In early 2020, he won the Youth+ Foundation’s ‘Music in Me’ Competition for his song ‘The Journey’
