Ugly Mug are a three piece garage-psych band from Sydney. They draw influence from fuzzy heavy hitters, blending a hypnotic jamming style with moments of anarchy. They will release new single ‘Fog’ on Friday Feb 6 2026. The song sees the trio pushing further into psychedelia, meditating on a world slipping blindly into hive-mind behaviour. A little dystopian with a lot of energy, Fog sets the tone for what’s to come as the band's sound continues to aim high. The release sees the band ramping up for a big year, following features on 2SER in 2025 and playlists including Creem Magazine, Local List & more for their EP ‘II’. Written by Tom Withford and Jayden Whitbread, the track was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Owen Pengilis in Sydney, Australia. The artwork was designed by Jayden. Ugly Mug will be performing new material at shows throughout 2026 and are in the midst of writing and recording their first full length album. Ugly Mug is Tom Withford (Guitar / Vocals), Jayden Whitbread (Bass / Vocals) and Nick Matthews (Drums / Vocals).
