Under the Lemon Tree is a four piece melodic rock outfit from Adelaide, South Australia. The band was formed in late 2007. Steve Barone (drums) and Chris Simone (bass) provide thundering slaps of rhythm, Matt Fantasia plays an angry, agile guitar and Rocky Esposito sings – his powerful voice thick with emotion. Influenced by 70s hard rock and early 90s grunge, the band delivers a powerhouse set full of sweeping, epic songs; from the creeping aggression of ‘Misunderstood’, to the anthemic pulse of ‘Terra Firma’, to the heartbreaking honesty of ‘This is who I am’. Under The Lemon Tree won the Music Expo Adelaide Battle of the Bands competition in 2008 - it was their third gig. Since then, the band has gone on to build a loyal following with their extraordinary live performances. Armed with a perennial love of music, the band always delivers an energetic and engaging show, and they have filled the house at venues across the city, from The Gov to Jade Monkey.
