Formed in K-town, july 2004, unknownquantity came about as four mates jamming in a flat who decided they'd embaress themselves by entering a battle of the bands with the four songs they had written. Because they had never gigged before, they settled on the name "unknownquantity" as a bit of a joke. It ended up being a metaphor for things to come, as they ended up coming in third place out of twenty-four bands competeing. Since then they have gigged relentlessly through there local area (with a short break due to injury), and are now trying to tackle the tough sydney scene.
