Valley Flaxman is a pseudonym for Adelaide producer Dan Linke. Formerly of cult synth-pop duo Kimonono, Linke's aim for the project is to twist various elements of electronic music with a rotating door of guest vocalists. The pseudonym comes from where Linke grew up - Flaxman Valley, located in the Barossa Valley. Influences are drawn from the electronic hip hop fusion mastered by the likes of Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum, the absurdist rap of Lil Ugly Mane, as well as the dance floor oriented work of Disclosure and Kaytranada, while still channeling experimental, noisier tendencies found in his time with Kimonono. Linke also produced Holas May's 2021 single "Block Letter" as Valley Flaxman. His first single as Valley Flaxman, "Cosmic", features Adelaide vocalist Embar Kaur, and will be released in May 2021.
