Vaticide are a metal band from Sydney, Australia that play a unique mix of melodic thrash and technical death metal. The music is fast, heavy and intense. Their sound is highlighted by shredding twin guitar solos, furious double-kick drumming, and brutal death vocals. The band officially formed in January 2002, although Rob, Symon and Jimmy had jammed together in bands prior to Vaticide. The early days were spent fine tuning as they strived to create their unique and distinctive sound. In mid 2002 a four track demo dubbed “Cursed” was recorded by Astennu (Dimmu Borgir, Covenant). Vaticide hit the Sydney live scene in late 2002, making a solid impression with their excellent live show and the distribution of the “Cursed” demo. Via numerous gigs in 2003, Vaticide quickly built a reputation as one of Sydney’s premier metal acts - their outstanding live sound and commanding stage presence earning them a loyal following.
