2025 has been an incredible year so far, Velatine’s last single Till Death We Do Art [April 25] became a huge turning point for the project, the song was well received, particularly in Europe [esp Germany] and now has passed 100k streams and the video over 15k. Those aware of Velatine’s history would be aware of utilising different vocalists, especially over the last two years, but as exciting as changing the lead can be, the project really needed stability to realise the long term goals of consistent releases [there is much to say] and playing Europe. As the single caught on, it became obvious the timing was right, currency they call it, so I started advertising via Instagram for someone special for a long term partnership. Deciding to be patient and wait for a vocalist that ticked the many attributes needed I spent months hiding away, writing songs to prepare for her arrival. I was actually shocked at the amount of interest the ads generated, lots of very talented vocalists put their names forward, but the decision would never be just about the voice, a connection with the music, aesthetic and working well together were just as important to ensure the choice would grow into the future. One [who almost didn’t apply] emerged as the front runner and I’m thrilled at how well we’ve aligned so quickly. Holly and I are both very excited, full of ideas and dreams to move Velatine forward.
