Velvet Lane are a relatively new band, formed mid 2013. Each member has been around in several outfits in Newcastle over the past years, and decided to get together to make some kind of a banal homage to the music of the past. We can't help but have a penchant for blues, psychedelia; from Krautrock to the British Invasion: we love punchy rifts, bad guitar solos and acid freak-outs. If we had a review we would put this instead, no one likes talking about themselves, but since no one has heard of us we had to write it ourselves. We have just finished our first EP, and are looking forward to playing around Australia. We are trying to branch out our sound, and promote ourselves a bit more, we will always have a tinge of self-deprecation and humour with ourselves, but increasingly we think that we are doing some interesting things with our music and we would love to share it with you!
