After an extended recording hiatus and line–up changes, Perth band Veronica’s Assassin return to the airwaves with their latest offering, the double release of ‘The Scene’ and ‘Taken’. Recorded by Rob Grant at Poons Head Studios in Fremantle, VA’s latest work highlight the musical diversity within the band with stark contrasts between the jumping rhythm from Billy Shaw (Drums), Don Barnes (Rhythm Guitar) and Enrique Carballido (Bass) on ‘The Scene’ to the floating vocal melody of singer John Sears on Taken all expertly linked by the intoxicating sound of Stu Lynch on Lead Guitar. With all members involved in the creative process, VA has a distinctive sound that belies their track diversity. The band doesn't simply dip their toe into different genres; they take a running jump and immerse themselves. From balls out rock n roll to reggae, punk to funk, VA knows how to keep a crowd captivated.
