Eclectic and Changeable, roaming through styles as the mood fits, but still me.. My songs wander through Folk, Soul and Country, telling stories of my life from the greatest heights to the darkest lows.. New Zealand born, I grew up in an extended family that embraced relatives, friends, foster kids and neighbours alike. I got my first guitar for Christmas aged 8, learned to sing in a church choir, grew up in Kapa Haka (Maori Performing Arts) Groups, writing poetry first then music pieces from the age of 13. Nobody taught me, I just watched and learned, playing by ear. I was terribly shy, content with playing guitar in the background and quietly filling in harmonies where I heard them.I got my first guitar when I was 8 as a Xmas Present.. I taught myself to play by watching my Mum and playing by ear.. I started writing poems when I was 10 and wrote my first piece of music for a friend at the age of 13.. Songwriting was a natural progression, and I have been songwriting in earnest
