Upon the discovery of a mutual love of retro sounds and creative expression, composer Valerian Maxamillion and poet Violet Jean Frost collaborated on a unique project which saw Violet give a voice to her poetry and Valerian a new channel for his 80's inspired ecclectic sounds, thus Violet Jean and Valerian was born. Using Violet's lifelong passion for poetry and storytelling and Valerian's skill and dedication for creating unique sounds they created The Leopard Thieves EP which features poetically charged lyrics, raw and uninhibited vocals, and a musical style that explores sounds that include synthpop, citypop, synthwave, 80's funk, 80's j-funk, j-pop and more. The duo are always at work creating new sounds and lyrics to transport people to another time and keep them suspended in an alternate reality as they listen alllowing the music to capture them, enamour them, allure them and ultimately bring them joy.
