Sydney based singer-songwriter vonn is unveiling her highly anticipated debut single “Myself”. As a long time collaborator of Ziggy Ramo, this track marks the launch of vonn’s solo career. You may have previously heard vonn’s standout vocals gracing two tracks from Ziggy’s critically acclaimed 2023 album Sugar Coated Lies including “Never”, which she also co-wrote and “Breathe”. On “Myself”, vonn’s soulful vocals are paired with a shimmering keys and a catchy beat to drive her affirmation home. Originally written when she just 19 and feeling stuck at a crossroads, vonn revisited this track years later with a newfound confidence in the realisation that nobody has it all figured out. Written collaboratively with Ziggy, vonn reveals that “Myself” “flowed out in one night”. ”That shows how comfortable I am with him. We’d been doing a little bit of performing together at that point so writing together was a natural progression from there - it felt really good!” Music has been in vonn’s blood for as long as she can remember. Growing up watching her mother perform and teach music, vonn began singing and instrumental lessons at a young age. Inspired by the likes of ABBA and Alicia Keys, vonn grew up playing live music every chance she got. It wasn’t until Ziggy Ramo brought vonn on board as a collaborator and backing vocalist that she finally allowed herself to entertain the idea of pursuing a career in music. Their simpatico creative connection was set in motion when Ziggy invited vonn to be a part of his Blaktivism show at Sidney Myer Music Bowl back in 2021. The pair haven't stopped collaborating since, with vonn recently supporting Ziggy at the St Kilda Festival. Nestled within the realms of pop and R&B, vonn’s truthful storytelling and captivating vocal performances set her apart from her peers. No longer hiding behind the piano, vonn is ready to claim her place under the solo spotlight. A taste from her upcoming EP, “Myself” is the beginning of an exciting journey to come.
