Beginning guitar from the young age of 14 in the small town of Leigh Creek in South Australia, Vortek has a black metal heart and an electronic musician's soul that shows in every sound he meticulously crafts. Ranging from pounding industrial vibes to haunting melodic ballads, this bass music producer isn't scared to cross genres or mix things up, which is highly evident in his debut EP on Hypnosis entitled 'Severed Wings' Having remixed Syrebral's coveted drumstep track 'Broken Angels', the two of them have formed a mighty collaborative machine with tracks that shatter floors and push the melodic boundaries of contemporary dance music With a recent signing to the brand-new and highly-revered Atom Recordings imprint, Vortek continues to show that his sounds are not only sought-after, but also ever-evolving, as he masterfully traverses drum and bass, dubstep and drumstep with frightening ease. Look out for this producer in 2012, because Vortek will blow your mind and then some.
