Louise Nutting is a Sydney-based singer songwriter and performs under moniker Wartime Sweethearts, now in the midst of launching second album So Long Sparta. So Long Sparta takes an expressionistic voyage through a moody collection of Nutting's textured, melodic and intricate songs exploring the cerebral and the romantic in equal measure. Influences include St Vincent, The Dirty Projectors, Radiohead, Björk, Ella Fitzgerald and Jeff Buckley. These influences emerge through Nutting's adventurous compositions, dynamic keyboard playing and the experimental jazz vocals that formed the backbone of debut album Pancake Orion (2010). Wartime Sweethearts gig regularly in venues across Sydney solo and with friends - see wartimesweethearts.com to hear/purchase So Long Sparta or find out where you can next catch her live shows.
