Enigmatic powerhouse, Watty Thompson is emerging as a striking and entirely unique performer-songwriter in Australia’s storytelling tradition. A little bit country, a little bit folk, and 100% heart, Watty’s high-energy sets lay bare and embrace the highs and lows of everything that makes us human. Following a herd of achievements in 2022, Watty Thompson now presents City to Run (Cheatin’ Hearts Records) and its accompanying clip, the third single from his upcoming debut LP. “City to Run was inspired by the decision to leave the big smoke and move back to the country to enjoy a slower-paced lifestyle and the space to breathe,” Watty says.
