The importance of crappy part time retail employment to the formation and progress of WE ARE GRACE cannot be overstated. Guitarist Liam met singer Laurie whilst flipping burgers at the local grease pit after school. While Liam was busy nuking rissoles and oversalting the fries, Laurie was a few feet away earnestly experimenting with new ways of burning calamari rings and desecrating Chiko Rolls. Together they were the worst cooks to enter a kitchen since that London baker left his oven on in 1666. During these gastronomic train wrecks Liam noticed that Laurie really liked talking and had even perfected the art of carrying on a conversation in between serving punters and fielding customer complaints. Legend has it that one time Laurie accidently fell into the deep fryer and could still be heard beneath the bubbling oil, nattering away. Liam decided it would be best for all concerned if he started a band and made Laurie singer, at least then maybe Laurie would stop talking for a few
