Formed in 2016 by vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Pete Konakov, WANR has been blending their love of punk, alternative rock, indie and shoegaze on releases such as 2017 debut "Killer in the Choir", all the way through to this year's newest ep "The Darkest Nights Still Glow". Kicked off by a synth line resembling a speeding ambulance exploding in a sea of strobes with the heartbeat of its patient palpitating in the debris beneath, WANR gets heavier on “The Darkest Nights Still Glow” without losing any of the pop sensibilities from previous releases. It’s all about staying relentless and sounds like the perfect mashup of Biffy Clyro, Weezer, Placebo and Violent Soho. The Darkest Nights Still Glow was produced, mastered and engineered by Pete Konakov and mixed by Ryan Cramp. It’s available everywhere now via the band's own imprint, The Lockout Party.
