Relative newcomers to the Australian musical landscape, Wedgetail have been hiding out in a studio in Melbourne’s inner north, sculpting a set of songs that perfectly encapsulate the band’s sound – arrestingly complex, melodic and powerful. A blend of snotty 80’s punk, the psychedelic swirls of 60’s garage and the tougher edges of 90’s shoegaze, Wedgetail proudly claim an intrinsic ‘Melbournity’ in their sound - no surprise really, given the years respective members have clocked up in bands like Guttersnipes, The Family, Kill Whitey, Beanflipper and the Rio Grande, among others. Wedgetail have just self-released their debut EP, and have played numbersou shows in venues like the Tote, Old Bar and Yah Yah's in Melbourne.
