A unique approach to modern progressive music is somewhat of a necessity in this age of musical mediocrity. Weightless In Orbit are a progressive metal quintet hailing from the Sunshine Coast, who aim to do just that. Inspired by groups such as Between the Buried and Me, Oceansize, and Animals As Leaders, whilst also having influences specific to each member, the resulting product is something that demands your full attention; an experience you will be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. As of 2014, Weightless In Orbit started recording a single for the first instalment of their double-album concept release; Fractures. Engineered, mixed and mastered by Joel Adams of Malice Audio, the nine-minute single gives insight into the album's concept; Elizabeth Kübler Ross' Five Stages of Grieving. The concept follows the protagonist who falls into a coma succeeding a violent accident. He is then subject to the personification of his greatest fears, brought to life in the dream-like environment
