whitElephant formed in 2007 with original members Andrew Scrivens and Paul Batchler crafting their unique songwriting partnership. Drawing on their eclectic musical backgrounds and influences they hybridized blues, roots, funk, rock and heavy-alternative elements into a fresh and unpredictable set of ever-evolving songs and sounds. Performing around Brisbane as an acoustic duo, they focused on refining their songs before expanding their sound with the addition of talented musicians, bassist Max Crispigni and drumming virtuoso Ash Carnie. At the end of 2010 the band recorded it's demo cd at Alchemix Studios and 2011 looms as the year for an elephants stampede!
