Edit history

Wild Meadows emerged in Melbourne, Australia over a love of all things garage, shoegaze and noise-pop, and released their debut EP in 2015. A self-titled LP followed in 2018, receiving extensive airplay in Australia and internationally. The band had a slight lineup change in 2019, with vocalist and songwriter Alana West (formerly of Melbourne DIY/indie outfit Hideous Towns) and drummer Peter Giannoukas joining long-time members James Ross (guitar), Donovan Pill (bass) and Dylan Bird (guitar). This inspired a prolific period of songwriting before the Covid-19 pandemic interrupted things. In 2021 the band got together over a weekend between Melbourne lockdowns and laid down some fresh tracks, with Mino Peric (No Sister) facilitating the recording and contributing instrumentation. The resulting sessions became 'Fear of Sleep', the band's second LP, set for release in April 2023. Mixed by Paul 'Woody' Annison and mastered by William Bowden, the album is the band's best offering yet.
