William Pitt writes songs with lyrics that sparkle with intelligence and poetry. Their musical accompaniment reveals all the twists and turns of a lifetime of playing, studying and performing. The songs stem from a life that has known love and loss, wealth and poverty, sickness and health. After an early working life in film and television sound recording he turned to his love of music and trod the path of a working musician playing guitar and bass in a wide variety of bands and styles in Sydney for many years supplemented with occasional teaching. He studied creative writing as a mature student and has had poetry and short stories published both here and in America. Living in Canberra and working as a handyman and occasional musician, he writes and records as often as time allows.
