Without saying a word, Yasmine Russell evokes comfort, healing and hope with her music. A lifelong harpist, Russell uses the power of her 36-string instrument to explore the triumphs and tribulations of life in a way that resonates beyond language. Russell has been behind the harp since she was five years old, when she first fell in love with the power of that spellbinding instrument. Today, she plays both as a soloist and as part of two different trios (2 and a Harp; CMYK), regularly performing in Wollongong and beyond. She has won multiple performance prizes, played on stages as big as the Sydney Domain, and in 2023 released a debut album full of original compositions, titled Closed Doors, via streaming services. Whether on stage or over the speakers, Russell and her harp helps listeners foster a connection with deeper parts of themselves, crafting music that feeds the soul.
