Forming in Perth/Boorloo, Western Australia in 2019 originally as a project between Taylah McLean who had previously released music under the name Serpentine Falls, and Chris O’Dea who is a founding member of the band JOYS. Alongside musicians Rleanne Evangelista (JOYS), Jess Nyanda Moyle (Jocelyn’s Baby) and Ryan K. Brennan (Phantastic Ferniture) Yawn Vibes soon morphed into a band. Yawn Vibes demonstrate a tender ferocity within their sound, lyrically able to be both sardonic yet hopeful. They tell tales about the complexities of existence, love and healing in the modern world . Yawn Vibes have the jangle pop viciousness of the Go Betweens alongside the soaring desire of the Replacements creating their own space within the sounds of The Great Australian Indie Songbook.
