Yoshimi Maserati started life as just three guys wanting to play some music and have a little fun, playing songs they all knew and loved. The guys quickly realised any muppet can write a song, so of course, they had a go at penning some tunes. From there this Brisbane 3-piece consisting of guitarist/vocalist Chris Simmonds, bassist/ vocalist J Dub and drummer Larnie Puke have created their own take on indie rock. YM have recently been in the studio recording their debut EP titled “The Via Studios Sessions”, containing some sticky hooks, driving bass and power-chord progressions. The first single from the “The Via Studios Sessions” is “Voices” and the follow up "Six Words" will also be released as a single. At this stage Yoshimi Maserati are leaving the live shows to the established pub bands, instead concentrating on writing and refining their style and sound, however the band are in talks with Vanguard Touring with a view to jamming out live in late 2013.
