After cutting his teeth as a death metal drummer and grinding as a boom bap and drum n bass MC, Melbourne producer Zero Syx has absorbed and wielded the energetic aesthetics of bass and G-house for his latest dancefloor offering. After releasing a handful of future bass tracks over 2017-18, his tastes turned darker and heavier, drawing influence from the likes of Dr. Fresch, Nukid, BIJOU and 1788-L. His new single 'Pretty Cool Guy', the first under his new moniker, takes a sarcastic knock at the egotistical tendencies of artists in the party scene while pulling no punches from its aggressive composition and sound design, and brashly announces his arrival as an emerging force in the Australian bass music scene.
