After working together on various projects, Harpist Emily Rosner from the stunning “Sunwrae Ensemble” collaborated with Percussionist Talia Brown from Afro Pop Band “Keshie” to create a new Alternative Pop project, “Zikora”. In 2011 they enlisted singer/songwriter Ellisa Scott, classically trained Pianist and Flutist, with a background in dance and theater. Described as an alternative-pop band with a twist, Zikora hails from eclectic backgrounds of classical training, West African inspired rhythms and musical theater upbringings. Hosting an unusual and intriguing line up of Harp, percussion, keys and voice among the standard full band spread. With the intention of creating an interesting blend of traditional- influenced music with a modern pop writing style, Zikora have struck a beautiful balance of sounds bringing a sweet combination of rhythm and harmony with a dash of humerus satire and poetic wit.
