About ZZG: ZZG was initially formed in 2007 by guitarist and singer Daniel Roberts along with bassist Keith Matthews. “Our desire was to create rock music in the vein of late 60’s and early 70’s classic rock and we intended for anyone who heard our music to leave with guitar hooks firmly embedded in their mind hours later. Our philosophy has generally remained unchanged, though our music has evolved to include a progressive rock element.” In 2008 drummer Craig Birnie and guitarist Stuart Mitchell joined ZZG each bringing their own unique feel to the band. Craig’s light touch has lent an air of accessibility to the music making it appeal to a wider audience than would have otherwise been possible. Stuart brought more modern tones and further added to the progressive rock feel that the band had been gravitating towards.
